Make your existence more meaningful by grabbing this life changing read from our pet RSS feed. Go on, you KNOW it makes sense!
Firstly, I wish that both these software programs had shorter names! That title is almost a novel in itself!!
Anyway, that aside, I am a big fan of article writing as a method of promoting my websites and, as such, I’m something of a “Private Label Rights†(PLR) article collector.
I’ve got literally hundreds collected on my PC over the past three years or so!
The problem is, of course, that only a fool uses these articles as they are nowadays. They must, absolutely must, be modified, if you plan on using them anywhere on the net, and this takes both time and effort.
Thus, the Holy Grail for someone like me is to have a software program that can do this job for me.
I’ve tried several different programs of this type, and, whilst none that I have tried so far has been perfect – no automatic program can ever write as well as a human being – I would say that one of the two most effective program that I have come across so far is Jeff Dedrick’s “Secret Article Converter†(hereafter known as SEC!).
I have been using this software almost since it was launched nine months or so ago, and have found it to be just about the simplest program of its type that I have come across.
To use it, you simply open the online interface, and upload the PLR article that you want to rewrite, and then choose what level of modification you want to achieve.
By this I mean that SEC offers three different “depths†of modification, from “lowâ€, through “medium†to “highâ€.
To illustrate the difference that the chosen level makes, take this example of a PLR article about Pay-Per-Click Advertising. This is how the firs few lines read in the original unmodified state:
“Advertising your services or products on the Internet is both extremely effective and extremely competitive. There are several ways to go about attracting traffic to your website; Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can choose from, along with developing an SEO, or search engine optimization campaign.â€
This is what Secret Article Converters “low†level will generate:
“Advertising your services or products on the Internet is both extremely conspicuous and extremely competitive. There are several ways to go about attracting traffic to your website; Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can choose from, along with developing an SEO, or investigate engine optimization campaign.â€
Literally only two words have been changed in this operation (in fact, the software tells me that 6.46% of the 673 words in the total article have been altered). There is also an extremely useful uniqueness checker built in to the program, so that, if (as I strongly suspect) this “low†modification level has not made the article unique, I can find out.
A quick check, and I can see that my fears are confirmed – at this stage, I have not modified the article sufficiently, and it is not unique.
Let’s try the “medium†level:
“Pronouncement your services or retail on the Internet is both us darned effective and outrageously competitive. There are a few ways to go around attracting traffic to your website; Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can determine from, along with developing an SEO, or go through engine optimization drive.â€
Check for uniqueness, and the software tells me that “Your article seems uniqueâ€. So, no need to really go any further, but, just in the interest of completing the job, here’s the “heavy†modified version:
“Airing your services or goods on the Internet is both damned noticeable and uncommonly antagonistic. There are some ways to go round charming shipping to your website; Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can decide from, along alongside formation an SEO, or comb mechanism optimization operation.â€
Not sure that it makes a great deal of sense, but it is certainly unique!
I should mention that, in all of the modified samples shown above, I have left the changes exactly as the software made them. In each case, SEC offers a list of other alternatives, so that it is relatively easy to make the altered article make sense, simply by choosing more appropriate synonyms.
So, as I say, whilst accepting that no automatic rewriter software is perfect, Secret Article Converter has been my favorite so far, as it simply does the best job of any program I’ve used to date.
However, I have recently come across another alternative program which I believe is fairly new (but am willing to be corrected) called Private Label Rights Integrator (PLRI) which offers a free 30 day trial, so that you can literally try it before you buy it.
Now, I have just started using this one myself, in the trial version, but so far, I would admit that I have found it to be pretty much directly comparable to SEC. Little diffrence between them in terms of eiter speed or accuracy, as far as I can ascertain to this point.
In other words, whilst admitting that I have not dug too deeply into the workings of PLRI just yet, I have not found a great deal of difference between the two programs thus far. They both work in pretty much the same way, and produce rewrites that are equally as good.
However, there are two factors that you might like to consider, that may swing your choice one way or the other.
Firstly, looking at the costs involved, SEC is a subscription site costing $27 per month, whereas PLRI is a one-off purchase of $57, after the expiration of the 30 day trial period. So, to buy PLRI outright will cost you just over the price of two months subscription to SEC.
Second, PLRI promises many updates and major improvements, whilst, as far as I can recall, SEC has not changed mch since the day I started using it.
Now, you could view this as a good or a bad thing. If something works well, then why change it is one side of the argument (and one that I personally see a lot of sense in). The other argument is that whilst SEC does remain imperfect, then perhaps alterations should be made.
So, given that there seems to be little to choose between the two programs, effectively, you pays your money and you takes your choice, I guess.
One final note about another program out there that purports to be doing the same job as the two programs highlighted.
We’re talking about ArticleBot.
A few days ago, for reasons far too obscure to bore you with, I was searching for Secret Article Converter on Google, and came across a very interesting debate on someones blog site about the relative merits of SEC set against ArticleBot, which basically centered around which program did this rewriting lark the best.
I then looked up the ArticleBot site at www.articlebot.com, and saw that the program, whilst it was once a paid for service, is now free.
Heck, I thought, that’s a deal!
But, apparently not, if what I have read elsewhere is true.
People who are far, far more tech-savvy than me have discovered that when you fire up the ArticleBot program, it immediately sets about stealing great chunks of the data off of your PC!
If you’re interested in the details, then you can find out more about it here (http://seoblackhat.com/2005/08/20/article-bot-scandal/).
Suffice it to say, ArticleBot is NOT something I would recommend anyone using, free or not.
So, that’s it.
Secret Article Converter, I can highly recommend after using it almost since it launched in 2006. Private Label Rights Instigator seems from what I have seen so far to be a very reasonable alternative, and you can try it out for free for 30 days, so you can see whether it works for you with no risk.
