On the AdSense Alternatives front, a slight change of plan…….
The program that I had intended to begin with needs a bit more research than I had anticipated, so I’ll do that one in a couple of days.
So, I’m starting with a WordPress plug-in called aLinks, that you can download free by clicking the link.
Quite simply, this plug-in allows you to highlight words or phrases in you postings, and link these highlighted bits of test to a favored Clickbank program.
For those who don’t know Clickbank (CB) it is a huge central repository of digital product sellers, who are looking for affiliates to sell their programs. There are literally thousands of products for sale, so you will definitely be able to find something that works for you.
Say that your WP blog is about music. Then you would find a suitable music relate product, and highlight the word music using aLinks, in exactly the way I have done here.
And that really is it. Anyone clicks through to your CB product and buys it, you get paid 75% commission on this particular product.
Notice that on this page there are both aLinks AND AdSense ads being shown.
This showing of other adds together with AdSense IS acceptable in some cases, but you must be aware of the AdSense TOS, or “Terms of Serviceâ€. Google have strict rules about what other forms of advertising are and are not allowed on the same pages as AdSense.
Unfortunately, these rules are not always as clear as they perhaps could be, so there is often an element of doubt whether you can show other ads on the same page as AdSense or not.
From what I have seen personally, you can use aLinks and AdSense on the same pages, but that is only my opinion, formed on the basis of the fact that I have done so in the past without problems.
With every program that I will review in this series, it’s your call as to whether you use the ad program in addition to, or strictly as an alternative, to AdSense.
Couple of final things.
You can also use the plug-in for creating text links to Amazon.com affiliate products, as well as to another non-affiliate related url, such as your home page.
Anyway, installing aLinks on your WP blog is free, and, like all plug-ins, it is simple to use and a pretty effective way of channeling your blog reader towards your favored CB product or products.
adsense, affiliate marketing, clickbank, digital product, free, free downloads, google, mp3, music, suitable music, word music, wp
Maybe you should also mention that, if you don’t specify the number of times the word or phrase should be linked, it will do so all the way through your blog.
Up to you whether that is a good or a bad thing,
Jez
I’ve always wondered how people had so many thigns underlined in their blogs, I’ll have to check this out, thanks.
I know people that use aLinks, and absolutely love it. When I finally get my site up and running I plan on it being one of the first add-ons I d-load.
