Got A Free ‘Box’?

Make your existence more meaningful by grabbing this life changing read from our pet RSS feed. Go on, you KNOW it makes sense!

Just found a great new free service from a company whose website is located at box.net.

Basically, they are an online data storage company, who will let you have your own 1GB storage ‘Box’ for free!

There’s lots of different ways you could use this.

If, for example, you have some extra-large files that you would rather not have taking up great chunks of disk space on your own server (e.g. videos) then you can store them in your Box, and access them whenever you need to, online.

Box makes it easy to get your files from anywhere you have an internet connection.

You can access important documents from your desktop, laptop, or even mobile phone on the go.

Once you’ve uploaded your files to Box, you can also share them with anyone, or just keep them safe for as long as you want.

You can use the Box to easily back up your important files online, miles away from threats to your computer.

If there’s ever a problem with your computer, you can log into your secure account and download your saved files.

Box.net even backs up your backed up data, so all files are doubly protected (redundant) for even more peace of mind.

Any file in your Box can be immediately sent directly over the internet.

Best of all, RSS feeds can be automatically created for certain folders, letting your subscribers receive instant updates of your files.

All-in-all, well worth taking a look at (and, no, this is NOT a sponsored review – just something that I think is really worth taking advantage of!).

    Amanda,
Agreed. Zip drives are one way to go (I use one) - but zip drives fail, same as other hard drives.
If you have external storage, it can always act as a ‘if nothing else works’ failsafe,

Storing it online does have a lot of advantages. I remember saving small scripts of code in my mail box, when i wanted it at home as well as at work.

But 1 gb is a lot of space.

    Oh i got it..
Is the service free of cost?
Most mail services have this big a space in their servers.
But i see they get their money back from ads.
    How about this?
